Accountant – Financial Management & Reporting

About the role

Lexdan Select is supporting a security solutions group in Johannesburg with the recruitment of an on‑site Accountant. The role focuses on the preparation, analysis and reporting of monthly management accounts, ensuring compliance with tax and audit requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Process VAT returns and support audit activities.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and the fixed‑asset register.
• Analyse financial data, produce actionable insights and present results to the Financial Manager.
• Compile budgets and forecasts, monitor variances and support special projects.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Identify financial risks and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of accounting experience.
• Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
