Accountant – Finance Automation & Process Improvement

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Accountant who is passionate about leveraging technology to streamline finance operations. You will own day‑to‑day accounting while driving automation, improving controls, and enabling the finance team to focus on analysis and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations, accruals, pre‑payments and support month‑end close.
• Oversee loan management system accounting, reconcile loan portfolio and resolve discrepancies.
• Administer accounts payable from invoice receipt through payment, ensuring accurate coding.
• Utilise AI and automation tools to develop automated reconciliation processes and reduce manual work.
• Assist with management reporting and financial analysis to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Analytical and detail‑oriented with a strong interest in technology.
• Self‑motivated, proactive in identifying inefficiencies and proposing solutions.
• Adaptable, comfortable working independently and across teams.
• Organised with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Experience with accounting platforms such as Xero or QuickBooks.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Ability to work with high‑volume transactional data and automate workflows.
