Accountant – Engineering & Construction

About the role
We are seeking a detail‑driven Accountant to join a well‑established engineering and construction business in Johannesburg. The role supports operational success by managing core finance processes and partnering with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage month‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
- Process intercompany transactions and ensure general ledger accuracy.
- Maintain fixed assets, calculate depreciation and prepare balance‑sheet schedules.
- Prepare VAT and other tax‑related reconciliations and statutory submissions.
- Oversee debtor and creditor accounts and support internal and external audit requirements.
Required profile
- BCom in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a commercial environment.
- SAICA or SAIPA articles completed; CIMA qualification is a plus.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Pastel Accounting.
- Experience using Xero accounting software.
