Accountant – Cape Town (SAIPA qualified)

About the role

Our client, an established accounting and advisory firm in Cape Town, is seeking motivated accountants who have completed or are finalising their SAIPA articles. The role offers exposure to a diverse client portfolio, delivering accounting, tax, financial reporting and advisory services within a dynamic practice environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Process and review accounting records for a portfolio of clients.
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, Income Tax and other statutory returns.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and general‑ledger reviews.
• Liaise with clients, providing ongoing accounting support and advice.
• Support audit processes and respond to audit queries as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Completed SAIPA articles or in the final stages of completing articles.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and South African tax legislation.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently and within a team.
