Account Manager – Public & Municipalities Sales (Pretoria)

About the role

The Account Manager will market the company’s products and solutions to public‑sector clients, manage existing accounts and generate new business in the Public & Municipalities, Agencies and Parastatals sector in Pretoria.

Key responsibilities

• Market the company, its products and solutions and improve client perception.
• Maintain day‑to‑day management of current clients and generate new business.
• Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets and grow market share in the public sector.
• Provide weekly pipeline updates, quotations and monthly sales forecasts.
• Conduct client calls and physical visits at least twice a week (minimum 12 visits per week).
• Prepare quotations, follow up bi‑monthly, and keep clients informed on deliveries.
• Provide after‑sales support, follow up on invoices and attend weekly debtors’ meetings.
• Assist with tender submissions and attend product training sessions.

Required profile

• Senior Certificate (essential) and relevant qualification (preferred).
• Minimum 7 years’ senior sales experience in the public‑sector, municipalities, agencies or parastatals.
• Existing client base and a track record of achieving >75% of targets over the past 3 years.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and analytical skills; able to work under pressure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
