2024 Cloud Support Associate Internship

About the role

Amazon Web Services is offering a 2024 Cloud Support Associate Internship in Cape Town, South Africa. Interns will act as cloud ambassadors, helping customers adopt and optimise AWS services while gaining hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge cloud technology.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and use groundbreaking cloud technologies.
• Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to deliver unique solutions.
• Interact with leading engineers worldwide.
• Partner with AWS teams to reproduce and resolve customer issues.
• Drive customer communication during critical events.
• Work on complex, multi‑service customer problems.
• Write tutorials, how‑to videos, and technical articles for the developer community.

Required profile

• Available to start in February 2024 for a minimum of 6 months.
• Final‑year student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Perl, Ruby, shell).
• Knowledge of systems, networks and operating systems.
• Familiarity with internet fundamentals, cloud concepts, databases, storage and big‑data technologies.
• Comfortable working in a Linux/Unix environment and troubleshooting networks (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, cURL).
