12-Month Sales Learnership – Call Centre Programme

About the role

This 12‑month learnership at OUTsurance offers unemployed youth a hands‑on entry into the financial services and insurance industry. As a Sales Learner you will work in a busy call‑centre, acting as the first point of contact for customers seeking quotes or assistance with their policies. The programme combines practical on‑the‑job training with structured learning to develop sales, customer service and insurance knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers via phone, email or chat to understand their insurance needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Generate accurate insurance quotes and guide customers through product features, benefits and coverage options.
• Identify and pursue upsell opportunities, recommending additional policies or policy enhancements to improve customer protection.
• Process policy changes, endorsements or cancellations promptly and accurately in the system.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, ensuring each interaction enhances brand loyalty and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) qualification; a recognised diploma or degree is an advantage.
• South African citizen aged 18‑35, currently unemployed for at least six months and not previously enrolled in an INSETA learnership.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, resilience under pressure, strong problem‑solving ability and openness to coaching.
• Ability to manage call volumes, meet sales targets and adapt to evolving processes.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy, including navigation of standard office software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
