Warehouse Team Lead

About the role

The Warehouse Team Lead supervises a dedicated scanning floor team, ensuring daily production targets are met while maintaining high quality standards. This on‑site leadership role involves coordinating staff, monitoring performance, and supporting continuous improvement within the document scanning workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of scanning floor staff (Document Preparation Technicians, Scan Operators, Indexing Specialists).
• Conduct morning briefings, allocate work batches, and track progress against production targets.
• Perform first‑line quality checks on prepared, scanned, and indexed documents.
• Report production statistics, quality issues, and equipment faults to the Regional Manager.
• Train new team members on standard operating procedures, equipment usage, and quality standards.
• Manage absenteeism and time‑keeping, escalating issues as needed.
• Ensure accurate completion of chain‑of‑custody documentation at each workflow stage.
• Motivate and develop team members, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and relay floor‑level feedback to management.

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12 certificate (minimum).
• Diploma in Information Management, Business Administration, or related field (advantageous).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a document scanning or records management environment.
• At least 1 year in a team‑leader or senior‑operator capacity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office basics.
• Experience using scanning system dashboards.
