Two-Year Graduate Development Programme – Young Professional

About the role

Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) is offering a structured two‑year Graduate Development Programme for unemployed South African graduates aged 18‑35. The programme combines institutional knowledge with on‑the‑job training, mentorship and six‑monthly assessments to build solid work experience and improve employability.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through functional areas in various depots and departments (e.g., Beaufort West, Durban, Kilner Park).
• Support business operations with administrative and customer‑focused tasks.
• Conduct research, analysis and conflict‑resolution activities.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth processes.
• Apply business understanding to solve operational problems.

Required profile

• South African citizen, aged 18‑35.
• Fully completed bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Psychology, Social Work or a related field (NQF Level 6‑8).
• No prior work experience required.
• High integrity, professionalism and strong communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and engage proactively with tasks.
