About the role
Porter vacancy is available at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital. The Trauma Porter reports to the Unit Manager of Trauma, Heidi Freese, and is responsible for delivering uncompromising quality care.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and clean wheelchairs, emergency trolleys and related equipment.
- Assist the manager with ad‑hoc duties and administrative tasks such as photocopying.
- Deliver correspondence to doctors promptly.
- Flex into other areas of the hospital when required.
- Transport patients safely throughout the facility.
Required profile
- Minimum academic requirement: Grade 12.
- Excellent communication skills; English is essential.
- Physically fit with strength to lift patients and high energy.
- Experience in customer service or dealing with customers.
- Experience in healthcare is an advantage.
- Strong planning and organising abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Team player able to work day shift, night shift, weekends and public holidays.
