Transport Supervisor – Container Operations

About the role

As a Transport Supervisor – Container Operations you will oversee the end‑to‑end movement of containers from ports to customer destinations. The role focuses on ensuring timely collections, deliveries, and turnaround while maintaining safety, compliance and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily container transport operations and coordinate collections and deliveries according to booking schedules.
• Monitor truck movements, turnaround times, detention periods and overall operational performance.
• Optimize vehicle utilisation, route planning and loading/off‑loading schedules to minimise delays.
• Liaise with drivers, planners, customers, depots, shipping lines and port authorities on operational requirements.
• Supervise drivers and subcontractors, conduct briefings, and track performance, attendance and compliance.
• Ensure vehicles are roadworthy, report maintenance issues and investigate incidents.
• Maintain compliance with road transport legislation, port regulations and company safety standards.
• Accurately complete and submit all transport documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising container transport operations.
• Strong knowledge of port and road transport regulations.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage tight schedules.
• Leadership skills to guide drivers and subcontractors.
