Temporary Home Care Advisor - PE

About the role

Air Liquide is looking for a dedicated Homecare Advisor in Port Elizabeth to act as the link between the company and the veterans it serves. The role delivers VA medical products to patients' homes, ensures they are comfortable with their equipment and gives them education on the safe use of home oxygen therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Handle administrative tasks and monthly follow-up for patients, looking after the existing customer base and acquiring new customers.
• Download titration data, schedule appointments for routines, home sleep studies and CPAP, and confirm deliveries.
• Deliver and connect equipment to patients' homes on time, and give advice on all product aspects and run training courses with demos of diagnostic tools.
• Carry out routine visits within a month, manage the patient list and PDA according to work instructions, and implement the Therapy Initiation and Therapy Optimisation programs.
• Stay on call 24 hours, including weekends and public holidays, and provide telephone assistance to patients.
• Keep accurate stock counts of equipment and disposables, monitor expenses, maintain the company pool car and follow safety and quality policies.
• Implement CPAP therapy according to sleep study results and doctors' prescriptions, and deliver insulin pumps and disposables to new patients with education and setup support.
• Compile monthly state information using the state template.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse degree/diploma OR Matric (Senior Certificate).
• 2 years of experience in respiratory care.
• 3 years of driving experience.
• Autonomous work, knowledge of patient care and of consultative and diagnostic processes.
• Knowledge of VA safety procedures.
