Sports Producer – Live Studio Shows

About the role

Sporty is building a next‑generation sports broadcasting platform for a South African audience, with a strong focus on football. As a Sports Producer you will own the editorial direction and execution of both live and recorded studio programmes, ensuring each broadcast is engaging, accurate and of the highest quality.

Key responsibilities

• Define editorial direction and structure for daily studio shows.
• Build and manage detailed rundowns, segment layouts and show flow.
• Lead live broadcast execution, controlling timing, pacing and on‑air quality.
• Coordinate presenters, analysts, journalists and other contributors.
• Oversee scripting, talking points and ensure editorial alignment.
• Collaborate closely with the Technical Director and Graphics team during live shows.
• Identify key sports stories, narratives and angles, especially around football.
• Guarantee content accuracy, compliance and brand tone.
• Conduct post‑show reviews and drive continuous improvement.
• Work with digital teams to maximise reach and create cut‑downs.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in sports broadcast or digital content production.
• Strong knowledge of sports, particularly football.
• Proven track record producing live studio shows.
• Excellent editorial judgement and storytelling ability.
• Ability to thrive under pressure in fast‑paced live environments.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail.
