Spa Receptionist

About the role

The Cape Town EDITION Hotel is seeking a professional Spa Receptionist to manage front‑desk operations for its spa and salon facilities. You will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring smooth scheduling, payment processing, and a welcoming experience.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule individual and group spa services using the reservation software and confirm appointments by phone.
• Answer guest inquiries about services, amenities, and property information.
• Update the reservation and cancellation list throughout the day and communicate last‑minute changes to providers.
• Check‑in guests, verify identity, and provide a brief orientation of the spa facilities.
• Promote and sell spa and salon services, process payments, and handle cash tips.
• Balance, scan, and forward receipts to Accounting; secure cash and bank deposits.
• Notify Engineering of maintenance needs and report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, treatment rooms, locker rooms, and lounge areas.
• Stock towels, linens, supplies, and amenities; secure equipment at shift end.

Required profile

• Professional appearance and adherence to uniform standards.
• Clear, courteous communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
• Ability to handle cash, process payments, and maintain accurate records.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and lift items up to 10 lb.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with supervisors and other team members.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spa/salon reservation software.
• Cash handling and basic receipt reconciliation.
• Customer service and telephone etiquette.
