Software Engineer – Java Microservices on AWS

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will take ownership of technical design decisions and be a driving force behind the quality, architecture, and delivery of software solutions across our retail platform. You will work with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, maintainable systems built on AWS cloud infrastructure, leveraging modern microservices architecture and best‑in‑class engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain understanding of organisational structures, adapt delivery approaches, detect architectural deficiencies and recommend improvements while upholding development principles and quality compliance.
• Analyse business requirements, design and develop back‑end and integration solutions using Java microservices on AWS, ensuring maintainability, scalability and operational efficiency.
• Share technical insights with stakeholders, collaborate effectively in a team without close supervision.
• Deliver complete SDLC deliverables in line with plans, identify and prioritize risks, and apply code review and QA processes.
• Set up, maintain and improve technical infrastructure for development, testing and production environments, staying current with retail technology trends.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on Java development experience in production environments.
• Proven experience designing and building microservices‑based architectures.
• Practical experience with AWS cloud services and cloud‑native design principles.
• Experience working with Agile (SCRUM) and SDLC methodologies.
• Strong communication skills and at least 5 years of development experience.
