About the role
Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) intern who is eager to solve real customer problems using cutting‑edge technology. You will work in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment on scalable services that impact millions of customers, sellers, and products worldwide. As an SDE intern you will own the full lifecycle of your code—from design and implementation to deployment and ongoing operations—while learning from experienced engineers and mentors. The internship is a full‑time, on‑site role in Cape Town, with typical office hours of 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, and requires a bachelor’s degree. Interns are expected to focus exclusively on their Amazon responsibilities during work hours, without conflicts such as classes or other employment.
