About the role

The Limpopo Department of Education is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join Susan Strydom Special School. The role focuses on assessing and supporting learners with special educational needs, delivering counselling, and coordinating interventions.

Key responsibilities

Conduct assessments to identify learners' conditions and provide counselling.
Recommend and implement appropriate interventions and referrals.
Provide continuous support to individuals, groups, families, and communities.
Monitor the effectiveness and progress of interventions.
Deliver psychosocial support and assist child protection initiatives.
Participate in multidisciplinary teams and implement school social work policies.

Required profile

Interpret and apply relevant legislation and policies.
Perform statutory functions and attend court proceedings.
Produce and maintain accurate records and reports.
Liaise with stakeholders and compile school social work policies.
Knowledge of social welfare legislation and crisis intervention skills.
