About the role
The South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF) invites applications for a 12‑month Social Services Internship within its Social Services Department in Parktown, Johannesburg. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring social work professionals to gain practical experience while contributing to programmes that support individuals, families, and communities affected by problem gambling. Interns will work closely with the Social Services team to deliver support services, conduct assessments, and assist in community outreach initiatives, and will receive a competitive monthly stipend.
Required profile
- Degree in Social Work
- Current registration with, or eligibility to register with, the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP)
- Proficiency in English and at least one additional South African language (isiZulu, isiNdebele, siSwati, or Afrikaans)
- South African citizen
- Under 35 years of age
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications
- Police Clearance
- Certificate / Form 30 Clearance
- Valid driver’s licence (advantageous)
