Short Term Claims Consultant (RE5 Required)

About the role

The Short Term Claims Consultant will manage and process short‑term insurance claims, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and a high level of client service. You will assess claims, coordinate with service providers and uphold compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full claims lifecycle from registration to settlement, adhering to service level agreements.
• Capture and maintain claim data in the claims management system, ensuring complete documentation.
• Communicate with clients, provide updates, and handle queries professionally.
• Investigate claims, verify documentation, and liaise with assessors, repairers and external experts.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, and escalate complex or high‑risk claims as needed.
• Prepare and submit required reports while maintaining confidentiality.

Required profile

• Matric Certificate and RE5 qualification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in short‑term insurance claims, preferably building and contents.
• Previous experience in insurance or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of non‑motor short‑term insurance products and claims processes.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with claims management systems.
