Service Assistant / Diensassistent (VS 19)

About the role

The Service Assistant supports an established South African financial services group by handling a wide range of client service requests. Working closely with advisers and product providers, the role ensures accurate processing of changes, withdrawals, and policy amendments while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Process service requests such as address changes, beneficiary updates, banking details, withdrawals, policy amendments, and tax certificate requests.
• Provide administrative assistance to financial advisers.
• Liaise with product providers to ensure efficient request handling.
• Communicate with clients, answer queries and assist with service requests.
• Maintain up‑to‑date client information in the CRM system.
• Ensure compliance with service level agreements and meet required deadlines.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (or equivalent) qualification.
• Minimum 12 months of relevant experience in the life insurance industry.
• Clear understanding of FAS and FICA regulations.
• Good knowledge of various insurance products, policies and services.

Required skills

• Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience using a CRM system to manage client data.
