Senior Tax Manager – Group Tax (Cape Town)

About the role

Apex Group is seeking a qualified Senior Tax Manager to join its Group Tax team in Cape Town. Reporting to the Director of Tax Compliance and ultimately to the Global Head of Tax in London, the role focuses on overseeing international tax compliance and reporting for the group.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the group’s international tax compliance obligations in collaboration with external tax advisors.
• Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting under IFRS/UK GAAP and contribute to consolidated group reporting.
• Oversee the group’s tax cash‑flow position and align tax payments with budgeting plans.
• Prepare and review VAT computations across selected jurisdictions.
• Assist in the preparation of local transfer‑pricing documentation.
• Work with the Director of Compliance and Reporting to uphold the tax risk‑management framework.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent qualification with more than 5 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Strong understanding of corporate income tax and exposure to international tax matters.
• Experience with IFRS tax provisioning.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with finance, legal and operational teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
