About the role
Mediclinic is seeking a Senior Professional Nurse to work the night shift, supporting the Unit Manager in delivering safe, high‑quality patient care. The role combines direct clinical duties with mentorship of new and student nurses, ensuring a positive client experience throughout the night.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, safe patient care while mitigating clinical risks and meeting quality standards.
- Manage the overall client experience during night hours.
- Maintain optimal staffing levels, retention, and utilisation of resources.
- Empower staff through continuous assessment, development, and mentorship.
- Assist in managing operational expenses, including stock and capital items.
Required profile
- Professional Nurse qualification.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing for specialist units (e.g., Peri‑operative Nursing).
- Minimum 3 years of professional nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- At least 1 year of mentorship experience.
