Senior Planner – Beauty Category

About the role

Takealot.com, South Africa's leading online retailer, is seeking a highly talented Senior Planner (Beauty) to join its Beauty Buying team in Cape Town. The role offers a market‑related total remuneration package, flexibility, a great work environment and the chance to tackle challenging projects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the in‑stock function, including demand planning, ordering and capacity management aligned with the Beauty department strategy.
• Deliver accurate insights and reports to support commercial decisions, revenue and margin targets.
• Create sustainable in‑stock systems and processes in partnership with analytics, technical and product teams.
• Manage planning cycles for seasonality, promotions, imports and continual replenishment.
• Develop and own bottom‑up budgeting, quarterly plans and re‑forecasting at category and product levels.
• Maintain end‑to‑end inventory health, improving in‑stock rates, forecasting, markdowns, returns and warehouse space.
• Drive process improvement, cost reduction and automation across the supplier base.
• Lead and develop a team of buying assistants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Commerce, Finance, Mathematics or Economics (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years retail planning experience, preferably in the Beauty category.
• Proven track record in inventory management, forecasting, spend and margin control.
• Strong numerical and analytical aptitude.
