Senior OpenText ExStream Developer (Output Management)

About the role

We are seeking a senior OpenText ExStream developer to design, build and maintain enterprise‑scale document templates and output‑management solutions. The role sits in a fast‑paced, Agile environment where you will collaborate with build teams and IT architects to deliver high‑quality, scalable communications for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and support document templates using OpenText ExStream tools such as Design Centre, StoryTeller and PageOut.
• Migrate existing templates from PageOut to StoryTeller, ensuring functional parity.
• Estimate effort, scope solutions and manage input/output queues, interfaces, filters and URL requests.
• Work closely with build teams, architects and business analysts to align solutions with infrastructure, security and architectural standards.
• Operate fully within an Agile framework, participating in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups and retrospectives.

Required profile

• Matric plus a degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience in application development or document composition solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on user requirements.

Required skills

• Advanced XML and XPath.
• Perl and Unix shell scripting.
• Linux/Unix server administration.
• OpenText ExStream (Design Centre, StoryTeller, PageOut) and StreamServe.
• Experience with spooling systems such as VPSX and tools like scVenus.
• Knowledge of SAP Output Management, Oracle or PostgreSQL databases, and encryption technologies.
• Understanding of printer languages (PCL, PostScript, ZPL).
• Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., BMC Remedy) and Agile methodologies.
