Senior Manager – Private Equity Fund Accounting

About the role

The Apex Group is seeking a Senior Manager to lead private‑equity fund accounting and administration for strategic clients in Cape Town. You will own end‑to‑end delivery, act as the primary escalation point for complex issues, and partner closely with clients to ensure accurate, timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver NAV, financial packs, capital activity and investor reporting on schedule and to the required quality standards.
• Manage escalations, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement remediation and preventive actions.
• Maintain audit‑ready processes, close queries promptly and uphold governance standards.
• Identify, assess and mitigate operational risks for assigned clients.
• Coach and develop Managers and Assistant Managers, overseeing performance and retention.
• Drive process improvements to reduce defects, shorten cycle times and lower risk.

Required profile

• Proven experience in private‑equity fund administration or a similar fund accounting environment.
• Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to build trusted operational partnerships.
• Demonstrated capability to lead cross‑functional teams across jurisdictions.
• Excellent problem‑solving and escalation management experience.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and foster a high‑performance culture.
