Senior IT Systems Technician

About the role

We are looking for a senior IT Systems Technician to provide end‑to‑end technical support across multiple office locations in Cape Town. The role involves maintaining user devices, managing Microsoft and network environments, and ensuring high‑quality service delivery to all business users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, OS and application issues.
• Manage the full endpoint lifecycle – deployment, maintenance, upgrades and off‑boarding.
• Support Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 applications and services.
• Administer Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
• Support Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
• Assist with endpoint management platforms and device policy administration.
• Diagnose and resolve VPN, Wi‑Fi, LAN and WAN connectivity problems.
• Perform workstation builds, rebuilds and hardware refresh projects.
• Implement endpoint security controls, patching and access management.
• Provide guidance and escalation support to junior team members.
• Maintain accurate service‑desk tickets, documentation and asset records.
• Liaise with third‑party vendors for repairs, warranties and escalations.
• Promote cybersecurity awareness across the organisation.
• Participate in after‑hours and standby support when required.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with a relevant IT or Computer Systems diploma.
• 3–5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
• Industry certifications such as Microsoft Fundamentals/Associate, CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+, Microsoft 365 Administrator, ITIL Foundation (advantageous), Azure Administrator Associate (advantageous).
