Senior Developer

About the role

A financial company is seeking a Senior Developer who will maintain the technical integrity of its platform as it scales across a shared core and independently deployed client implementations. Beyond writing production code, you will shape domain modelling, mentor junior engineers, and act as a trusted technical voice alongside the Development Manager and Technical Architect.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for domain models and structural decisions, ensuring system coherence as the product evolves.
• Lead the development and evolution of Python/Django platform services from design through production deployment across multiple client implementations.
• Design, build, and maintain backend systems in cloud/container environments such as AWS, Kubernetes and OpenShift/K3s.
• Set technical direction for the core platform and client implementations, reviewing designs and determining placement of capabilities.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level developers, conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance.
• Champion reusable CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and cloud‑native engineering standards.
• Provide rotational production support and lead incident response when required.

• Proven experience evolving live systems safely through migrations, backward‑compatible changes and phased rollouts.
• Mentoring mindset, supporting junior and mid‑level developers and raising engineering standards.
