Senior Bookkeeper – UK VAT & Accounts

About the role

We are a growing bookkeeping and accounts firm seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our remote team on a full‑time basis. This senior position is ideal for someone with strong UK bookkeeping and VAT expertise who can manage a substantial portfolio of VAT returns and support the team’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and prepare UK VAT returns for multiple clients.
• Review and check VAT returns prepared by junior team members.
• Perform high‑level bookkeeping work for UK‑based clients.
• Support, guide, and mentor other members of the bookkeeping team.
• Help improve internal systems and processes as the business expands.

Required profile

• Substantial experience with UK VAT and UK bookkeeping.
• Preferably experience in both practice and industry settings.
• Qualifications equivalent to AAT or similar.
• Highly organised, detail‑focused and confident reviewing others’ work.
• Strong practical experience with UK VAT and bookkeeping; location not mandatory.
