Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a senior backend software engineer to join IDBASE SOFTWARE’s Engineering (Technology & Innovation) team in Cape Town. The role combines strategic technical leadership with hands‑on development of scalable .NET services and close collaboration with Vue.js front‑end teams.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement high‑performance backend services using .NET (C#).NET Core and .NET Framework.
• Develop and maintain production‑grade RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration with Vue.js applications.
• Design, optimise and manage Microsoft SQL Server databases, including schema design, indexing and query tuning.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps, applying clean‑architecture and SOLID principles.
• Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers and drive engineering best practices across distributed teams.
• Participate in architectural discussions, identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise‑grade backend systems at scale.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
