Senior AWS Cloud Engineer – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

This 12‑month contract opportunity is for a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable, automated cloud infrastructure for a leading South African financial services organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and deliver secure, highly‑available AWS environments using Infrastructure as Code.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and deployment workflows.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and container platforms to ensure performance and resilience.
• Implement Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, Terragrunt or Helm for infrastructure provisioning.
• Enhance system scalability, reliability and observability with monitoring tools.

Required profile

• 5+ years of AWS Cloud or Platform Engineering experience.
• Strong background in Linux/Unix systems and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Proven ability to work independently on large‑scale projects.
