Senior Accounting Associate – Remote (South Africa)

About the role

Humayn Consulting is currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity with an international professional services business, where you’ll work remotely from South Africa while supporting a portfolio of international clients across different countries and industries.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure client financial books and records are up to date, accurate and complete.
• Carry out month‑end and quarter‑end closes and prepare financial reports for clients.
• Prepare and file VAT/ESL/CBS returns on behalf of clients.
• Draft annual statutory financial statements for filing with the Trade Registry.
• Support clients with ad‑hoc services such as payments and sales invoice creation.
• Guide and monitor the work of Accounting Assistants and train newcomers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent.
• SAIPA‑accredited Certified Accountant.
• Minimum three years’ experience in a mid‑sized accounting firm handling at least 15 clients.
• Proven experience drafting annual statutory financial statements.
• Excellent verbal and written English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EU/Netherlands VAT regulations.
• Experience with accounting platforms such as Exact Online, NetSuite or QuickBooks.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
