Senior Accountant – Multi-Entity Finance & Compliance

About the role

We are looking for a senior accountant to join our multi‑entity finance team in Johannesburg. The role combines hands‑on day‑to‑day accounting with group‑level consolidation, audit coordination and tax strategy across hospitality and property‑management entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple entities in line with IFRS and IAS.
• Capture and reconcile bank feeds, post loan journals and manage supplier and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, handle depreciation, disposals and revaluations.
• Consolidate ledgers from Xero, Sage and iScala into Draftworx and drive year‑end close, including IFRS 9 ECL and IFRS 16 lease accounting.
• Prepare group financial statements, elimination journals, cash‑flow work‑papers and covenant schedules.
• Lead external audit engagements, prepare audit working papers and ensure timely sign‑off.
• Manage VAT returns, SARS submissions (PAYE, income tax, provisional tax) and support tax audits.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or property‑management.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, IAS and South African tax regulations.
• Proven ability to work across multiple entities and deliver accurate group consolidation.
