Security Engineer

About the role

Discovery Bank is looking for a Security Engineer to design, build and test security solutions across its mobile applications, backend APIs and supporting systems. You will play a key part in protecting the financial health of our clients by ensuring that all technology is securely designed, implemented and maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test security controls for mobile apps, APIs and backend services.
• Create internal tools to automate security testing and conduct regular penetration tests.
• Apply OWASP standards to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Use tools such as Postman and mobile debugging frameworks to evaluate security controls.
• Perform risk and threat modelling and contribute to security assessments.
• Participate in incident resolution and engineer appropriate fixes.
• Define, implement and maintain security policies and standards.
• Evaluate new technologies that enhance security capabilities.
