Remote QA Engineer

About the role

Huzzle connects talent with leading companies across the UK, US, Canada, Europe and Australia; its client is a fast-growing performance marketing agency helping DTC brands scale through paid media, CRO, creative strategy and publisher networks. As a QA Engineer you will ensure the quality, reliability and performance of web and mobile apps, working with developers, product managers and designers to find issues early and improve testing processes. This is a fully remote, independent contractor position.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and run test plans, test cases and test scripts
• Perform manual testing of web and mobile applications
• Develop and maintain automated test suites where applicable
• Track and verify defects with bug-tracking tools
• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues and validate fixes
• Run regression, functional, integration, usability and performance tests
• Take part in sprint planning, backlog refinement and release testing
• Improve QA processes, documentation and testing methods
• Report testing progress, risks and quality metrics to stakeholders

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in QA or QA engineering
• Strong understanding of testing principles and QA methodologies
• Manual testing experience on web applications
• Agile or Scrum experience
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting

Required skills

• Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or similar automated testing frameworks
• Jira, Azure DevOps or Trello
• REST API testing with Postman (an advantage)
• Basic SQL and database testing preferred
• Nice to have: CI/CD, Git, performance or security testing, ISTQB certification, SaaS/cloud testing
