About the role
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for factory quality assurance, analysing process losses and driving improvements to enhance overall quality performance. This position is based in the Pinetown manufacturing site and works closely with production teams.
Key responsibilities
- Perform product quality tests, analyse results and implement corrective actions.
- Own customer claim KPI/KAI indicators, lead root‑cause analysis and promote a quality‑focused culture.
- Manage total waste KPI, drive continuous waste reduction initiatives.
- Oversee base material quality losses and aim for zero impact on factory waste.
- Support and coordinate World Class Manufacturing (WCM) activities across the plant.
- Train operators and technicians to improve process‑driven results.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years of quality assurance or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO9001, ISO14001, BRC, ISO22000 and OHSAS18001 standards.
- Knowledge of SPC, TQM and WCM methodologies.
- Experience with production processes and waste management is preferred.
