Quality Assurance – Quality Controller

About the role

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is seeking a Quality Assurance Quality Controller to join its Quality team. The role involves product sampling, laboratory testing, in‑line inspection and ensuring compliance with food safety and manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct physical, chemical and microbiological tests on raw materials, packaging and finished goods according to schedules.
• Perform in‑line quality checks on production lines (CO₂, Brix, fill height, torque, crown/crimp integrity) and document any non‑conformances.
• Support internal and external audits by providing samples, records and evidence of compliance.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment such as pH meters, refractometers, incubators and balances.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, GLP, GMP and quality systems (FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, KORE).

Required profile

• National Certificate or Diploma in Food Technology, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology or a related field.
• 1–3 years experience in a quality control or laboratory role within FMCG, food or beverage manufacturing.
• Experience working in a certified food safety environment (FSSC, ISO or equivalent).

Required skills

• Use of lab equipment such as pH meters, refractometers, incubators and analytical balances.
• Basic laboratory testing and sampling techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Understanding of food safety and quality systems (HACCP, GMP, KORE).
