Project Co‑Ordinator

About the role

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, is looking for an experienced Project Co‑Ordinator to manage new product localisation and engineering projects from concept to launch. Based in Durban, you will act as the primary liaison between the business and customers, ensuring projects meet quality, cost and delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate project requirements with customers, covering localisation, new business and value engineering.
• Develop and control project plans, master schedules and milestone tracking.
• Perform cost calculations, feasibility studies and BOM development for new parts.
• Lead OBEYA meetings, coordinate cross‑functional teams and monitor progress against QCD targets.
• Manage drawing and design change distribution, support QMS (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) compliance, and produce project close‑out reports.
• Support ad‑hoc projects, business expansion initiatives and long‑term project strategy.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related qualification.
• Minimum 5 years experience managing automotive OEM projects.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office and intermediate Excel skills.
