Professional Nurse – Theatre

About the role

Mediclinic Limpopo is seeking a Professional Nurse for the Theatre department to deliver safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care in line with the Scope of Practice. The role involves working within a multi‑professional team to ensure patient safety and a positive experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing (essential).
• Midwifery or postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant specialty (desired).
• No prior experience required; 1 year post‑graduate qualification experience preferred for specialised units.

Required skills

• Infection prevention and control.
• Pharmacology.
• Nursing record keeping and patient assessment.
• Computer literacy – Microsoft Office.
• Basic life support training (ACLS, ATLS, PALS).
• Risk identification.
