Professional Nurse Specialised - Theatre

About the role

The Professional Nurse – Specialised – Theatre is responsible for delivering safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care in the operating theatre, in line with the Scope of Practice. The role works within a multi‑professional team to ensure patient safety and a positive experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing (essential).
• Additional qualifications such as Midwifery or a postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant specialty (desired).
• No minimum experience required; however, 1 year of post‑graduate qualification experience in a specialised unit is preferred.
