Production Supervisor – 44 hrs/week

About the role

We are looking for a Production Supervisor to lead a multi‑skilled garment line at Prestige Clothing in Caledon. The role involves ensuring efficient line set‑up, meeting hourly targets and maintaining high quality standards across the production process.

Key responsibilities

• Identify training needs to develop a multi‑skilled production line.
• Attend pre‑production meetings and ensure line changeovers are completed in the shortest possible time.
• Set up the line according to the line‑balancing sheet and perform line balancing to maximise staff utilisation.
• Follow the Production Plan, report deviations and keep downtime to a minimum by reporting faulty equipment immediately.
• Ensure bundle sheet information matches actual cutwork delivered to the line and maintain appropriate WIP levels.
• Report non‑conformances promptly and guarantee styles meet required quality standards.
• Ensure styles are offline 24 hours before the ASN date and that deliveries are complete to the Cutting Order and POM.
• Discipline employees for misconduct or poor performance and record downtime accurately on the MIS.
• Conduct capacity checks and performance‑boosting activities to achieve hourly targets.
• Return completed trims to the trim store after each style.

Required profile

• Grade 10 education.
• At least one year of supervisory experience, preferably in the clothing industry.
• Clear criminal record.
• Good communication, punctuality and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership qualities and the ability to persuade and influence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
