Process Control Engineer

About the role

The Process Control Engineer will join the Polokwane manufacturing team to ensure the reliability, optimisation and standardisation of all control and automation systems. Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you will play a key part in keeping production safe, efficient and consistent.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enforce Control & Automation (C&A) standards across the plant.
• Lead automation improvement initiatives that increase process efficiency.
• Guarantee system integrity from PLCs through to plant‑level software.
• Support strategic technology decisions and enable technical capability within manufacturing.
• Monitor and optimise control system performance to meet safety and quality targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in industrial control or automation environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and safety standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, maintenance and production teams.

Required skills

• PLC programming and configuration.
• Automation systems design and troubleshooting.
• Plant‑level software integration.
