Pharmacist Assistant & Surgical Stock Controller

About the role

The Pharmacist Assistant & Surgical Stock Controller will support the delivery of a professional, cost-effective pharmaceutical service to in-patients and the public. Working within Mediclinic’s pharmacy department, the role combines dispensing duties with responsibility for surgical stock management.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure availability of medicines and scheduled substances for stores and the public.
• Accurately dispense prescriptions and manage pharmacy stock system.
• Oversee goods receiving, supplier credits and stock-holding processes across the hospital.
• Coordinate surgical stock, monitor accuracy of master records and maintain compliance with legislation.

Required profile

• Pharmacist Assistant Post-Basic Certificate (essential).
• No minimum experience required; 1-3 years experience in a private hospital pharmacy is desirable.
• Experience in clinical pharmacy, antimicrobial stewardship, and stock management is a plus.

Required skills

• Clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with pharmacy systems such as UNISOLVE and AS400.
• Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g., Medicines and Related Substances Control Act).
