Pan Operator

About the role

The Pan Operator works on a fast‑moving FMCG production line, operating the panning machine to ensure products achieve a smooth finish and meet quality specifications. This role is essential for maintaining continuous flow and product quality throughout the shift.

Key responsibilities

• Check the production plan for the shift and gather required raw materials.
• Load colours into the five pans, start and stop the panning machine, and add raw materials to achieve the required finish.
• Transfer finished products to the next stage, placing them on trays for further processing.
• Complete SIC documentation during the shift and report any breakdowns to the manager.
• Ensure all work complies with quality standards, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
• Follow health and safety procedures, wear required PPE, and keep the work area clean.
• Participate actively in meetings and contribute to problem‑solving initiatives.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification with basic literacy and numeracy.
• 2 + years experience in a similar production role within FMCG.
• Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge (N3–N6) is desirable.
• Ability to work safely, follow SOPs and maintain accurate documentation.
