Outbound Collections Agent

About the role

Nimble Credit Solutions is hiring an Outbound Collections Agent (called a Collections Consultant in the advert) to engage with customers who owe money and negotiate payment plans. The role combines collection work with customer engagement and problem solving, and is open to people with at least 6 months of experience in outbound collections, sales or customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed individual collection targets through effective communication and negotiation.
• Maintain and update accurate records of customer interactions, payment arrangements and collection actions.
• Engage with customers empathetically and professionally, negotiating payment plans that benefit both the customer and the company.
• Resolve customer queries or disputes quickly so that payments are not delayed.
• Follow all relevant laws, policies and industry regulations to keep ethical standards and minimise risk.

Required profile

• At least 6 months of experience in outbound collections, sales or customer service.
• Matric qualification (or equivalent).
• Active employee tax number and a certificate from NAMRA.
• Positive credit record and a clear criminal record.
• Results-driven, reliable, able to work under pressure and enjoys teamwork.

Required skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy and the ability to handle systems efficiently.

Working hours are a maximum of 45 hours per week: up to 9 hours Monday to Friday (8 hours in weeks with a Saturday shift) between 07:00 and 20:30, and up to 5 hours on Saturdays, twice a month, between 08:00 and 13:00.
