Operations Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

Are you a hands‑on Operations Manager who thrives in a busy manufacturing environment? A leading South African recycling and manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced professional to own the day‑to‑day running of its Bridge City, Durban site. You will lead teams, drive performance and ensure production, stock, quality and contractors are effectively managed.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and oversee daily plant operations and production.
• Manage stock levels, conduct stock takes and enforce controls.
• Monitor quality standards and overall operational performance.
• Lead, develop and coach the operational team.
• Manage third‑party contractors and service providers.
• Oversee collections, logistics and site activities.
• Monitor plant assets, maintenance schedules and housekeeping.
• Drive health and safety compliance and track KPIs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree, National Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ management experience in manufacturing, recycling, waste management or a similar environment.
• Strong stock‑management and quality‑control experience.
• Proven team‑leadership and contractor‑management skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
