Miner (C2) – South Shaft Mining

About the role

Join Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, a world‑class producer of chrome ore in Limpopo, South Africa. The Miner (C2) will work on the South Shaft, reporting to the Shift Overseer, ensuring safe and efficient blasting and mining operations during each shift.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise blasting and mining activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and continuous inspection of the workplace.
• Plan and monitor operational targets, resource availability, ventilation flow, and gas testing, and take corrective action when needed.
• Install, inspect and maintain temporary and permanent support systems, roof bolts, and drilling equipment according to required standards.
• Conduct pre‑use equipment inspections, manage misfires, and oversee the safe handling and storage of explosives.

Required profile

• Grade 10 / Standard 8 certificate with a Blasting for Scheduled Mines or National Certificate: Hard Rock Underground.
• Valid Code 08 (B) driver’s licence; Competent A & B certificate and Blasting Assistant certificate are advantageous.
• At least 2 years of practical trackless mining experience; additional mining experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Ventilation monitoring and gas testing using appropriate instruments.
• Roof bolt installation and safety inspections.
