About the role

Absa is offering a learnership that trains unemployed South Africans to become Microinsurance Sales Consultants. The programme combines classroom learning with on‑the‑job experience, focusing on sales, customer service and regulatory compliance within the insurance sector.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and sell microinsurance products to individuals and communities across Gauteng.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and trust.
• Identify suitable, affordable insurance solutions and guide clients through applications and claims.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Participate in community outreach, awareness campaigns and financial‑literacy initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and policy details.

Required profile

• Unemployed, not enrolled in any educational programme, with a Grade 12 certificate.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for extensive travel within Gauteng.
• Clear criminal and credit record.
• Preferably some experience in call‑centre, sales or customer service environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to use digital platforms.
