Junior Technician – Lamproom (Secunda)

About the role

Schauenburg Systems is looking for a Junior Technician to provide technical services for electronic equipment used in the mining sector at the Lamproom site in Secunda. The role focuses on installation, maintenance, and support of hardware and software to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, certify and support electronic products and systems to the highest technical and safety standards.
• Set up and test units to meet specified requirements and perform quality checks.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions or escalate as needed.
• Maintain electronic equipment and software in line with company standards and client scope.
• Record maintenance activities and report further requirements.
• Assist with new projects and provide technical support to senior staff.
• Operate hand tools and small power tools safely.
• Maintain a clean work environment and perform any reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
• Liaise with other technical staff and on‑site customers to ensure quality, safety and contractual compliance.

Required profile

• N4 qualification in Electronic/Electrical.
• 2–4 years of experience in electronics hardware, software and IT (hardware, networks, software).
• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Detail‑oriented, disciplined and able to communicate effectively.
• Respectful attitude towards team leaders, customers and superiors.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing situations.

Required skills

• Electronic/Electrical knowledge (N4 level).
• Electronics hardware installation and repair.
• Electronics software troubleshooting.
• IT hardware and network troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
