Junior Stores Assistant – Store Services Division

About the role

The University of Pretoria is hiring a Junior Stores Assistant for its Store Services Division within Facilities Management. The role involves receiving and issuing stock, handling delivery notes and invoices, and maintaining proper stock control and store housekeeping.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with receiving and issuing stock, handling delivery notes and invoices.
• Provide effective client service and assist with stock counts.
• Ensure proper stock control and safe store housekeeping.
• Perform labour‑intensive duties such as loading, unloading, lifting, carrying and moving stock.
• Maintain accurate and complete task and process execution.

Required profile

• Grade 10 qualification with at least one year of proven experience as a stores assistant.
• Product knowledge and stock administration skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
• Computer literacy.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• One year experience in a higher education institution (advantageous).
• Valid driver’s licence and mobile machinery certification (advantageous).
