Junior Project Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a highly organized and detail‑oriented Junior Project Assistant to support the planning, execution and delivery of construction projects in Johannesburg. The role works closely with the Key Account Manager, Project Managers and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in project planning, scheduling and resource allocation.
• Maintain project documentation and records.
• Attend site meetings and ensure safety files are on site at commencement.
• Take site measurements, provide feedback to draughtsmen and secure drawing sign‑offs.
• Confirm material orders, deliveries and installation dates, and ensure materials are ready on site according to the Programme of Works.
• Compile snag lists for case phases and panel installations.
• Prepare sites and hand over final documentation to the Key Account Manager for sign‑off.
• Liaise with internal teams, project managers and external parties, communicating progress, delays and quality issues.
• Monitor project expenses, submit subcontractor payments and related purchase orders for approval.
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and resolve snag items promptly.

Required profile

• Own reliable vehicle (non‑negotiable) and a valid driver’s licence.
• Cell phone and residence close to Johannesburg.
• Presentable, well‑spoken and positive attitude.
• Willingness to work occasional overtime, including Sunday evenings and week nights.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Technical aptitude.
• Computer literacy.
